What you agree to when using SafeBite. Please read carefully.
SafeBite Is Not Medical Advice
This is the most important section on this page.
- SafeBite is an informational tool only. It is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional medical advice.
- AI-powered scanning can and will make errors. Ingredient databases may be incomplete or outdated. Never rely solely on SafeBite to determine if a food is safe for you.
- SafeBite does not replace allergy testing, medical diagnosis, or guidance from your allergist or doctor.
- Always verify allergen information directly with restaurant staff, food manufacturers, or ingredient labels before eating.
Your Responsibilities
- Accurate profiles: You are responsible for keeping your allergen profile accurate and up to date.
- Carry medication: If you have been prescribed epinephrine or other emergency medication, always carry it with you. SafeBite is not a replacement for emergency preparedness.
- Verify results: Always confirm scan results with restaurant staff, labels, or other sources before consuming food. Use SafeBite as a starting point, not the final word.
- Use good judgment: If something seems off about a scan result, trust your instincts and ask questions. When in doubt, do not eat it.
Account Terms
- One account per person. Do not share your account credentials with others.
- You are responsible for all activity on your account. Keep your password secure.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Community Content Guidelines
SafeBite includes community features like restaurant reviews and ratings. When posting:
- Be honest and accurate. Other people with allergies are depending on your reviews for their safety.
- Do not post false, misleading, or harmful content.
- Do not harass, bully, or target other users or restaurant staff.
- We may remove content that violates these guidelines without notice.
Limitation of Liability
SafeBite is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any allergic reactions, health issues, or damages that result from using or relying on information from SafeBite.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any scan result, safety rating, or allergen information.
- Our total liability to you for any claims related to SafeBite is limited to the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months (if anything).
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via the app or email. Continued use of SafeBite after changes means you accept the updated terms.
